Capacity Building of Community Practitioners in South Asia COPASAH South Asia - First Regional Session on 'Certificate course on Health System Accountability'

Context:
To enhance the capacities of community accountabilitypractitioners, COPASAH South Asia member- Support forAdvocacy and Training to Health Initiatives (SATHI), (Maharashtra) India, is rolling out its first regional level contact sessionof the ‘Certificate course on Health System Accountability ’
Nearly 40 grassroot practitioners from the Vidharbha region of Maharashtra will congregate at Nagpurfor the first contact session of the Contact cum distance learning course. Nearly 115 grass root level activists had applied for the course from across the state of Maharashtra. Karve Institute of Social Services, which is one of the pioneers in social work education in Maharashtra, will accredit the ‘Certificate course on Health system accountability ’- Contact cum distance learning course for grass root level practitioners.
Objective The contact session and the course aims
To develop the socio-political perspective of grassroots activists surrounding accountability of health and social services
To develop an understandingof a range of practical tools and strategies that may be used to promote accountability of health and social services
Enable peer group sharing of diverse experiences of accountability work, promote understanding ofvarious approaches and strategies that can be used for grassroots advocacy
