​COPASAH DEBRIEFING REVIEW AND STRATEGISING FUTURE DIRECTIONS MEET
​September 5,6 & 7, 2017, Venue: Silver Ferns, Saket, Delhi (India)
The COPASAH Debriefing Review and Strategising Future Directions Meet was held in New-Delhi India from September 5, 6&7. The meet witnessed participation of diverse experts from the field of accountability, health rights movement, accountability practitioners, academics and research. The participants spanned across different countries from Guatemala, Peru, Uganda, Zambia, UK, USA, Nepal, Bangladesh apart from India.  Earlier in the year COPASAH had commissioned an external review of its processes and organizational mechanisms to and external reviewer, Dr. Florencia Guerzovich. In this meet the external reviewer presented her findings and insights to help chart the future direction of COPASAH.  The inputs and recommendations provided by the reviewer led to discussions and deliberations by the participants on the strategic directions to take the learnings forward. Besides this, discussions were also held around a Global Symposium proposed to be held by COPASAH around a year later. The Global Symposium will be themed around Accountability, health rights and health systems and will have the focus on learning from practitioners from the Global South.

COPASAH is a community where practitioners who share an interest and passsion for the field of community monitoring for accountability in health interact regularly and engage in exchanging experiences and lessons; sharing resources, capacities and methods; in the production and dissemination of conceptual, methodological and practical outputs towards strengthening the field; and in networking and capacity building among member organizations.

The Roma People in Europe: A Story of Marginalization and Exclusion
The Roma People and related minority communities constitute Europe's largest and most vulnerable minority and are present in nearly all member states. There are an estimated 10-12 million Roma in Europe, particularly in Bulgaria (10.33% of total population), Republic of Macedonia (9.59%), Slovakia (9.17 %), Romania (8.32%), Serbia (excluding Kosovo) (8.18%) and Hungary (7.05%). Turkey, Albania, Greece and Spain are other countries where they constitute close to 3 % population of the total.
